Actual problems of the various forms of violence, significant increase the aggressive manifestations in the child environment, child crimes and crimes against children require rethinking about the paradigm of preventive measures, which is the main task of the units for juvenile prevention of the National Police of Ukraine. Given the current requirements in the field of protection of the children rights and freedoms, the implementation an activity of the units for juvenile prevention during fulfillment tasks defined by the rules of the modern legislation, it can be argued that it is necessary to improve the effectiveness of professional training and identify ways to improve it. The purpose of the article is to identify the features of improving the psychological training of employees of the units for juvenile prevention. The main tasks of the research are to determine the current state and problems during professional training of employees of the units for juvenile prevention; development the scientifically grounded proposals for its optimization. Methodology. During the preparation of the article, some general scientific and special scientific methods of cognition were used, in particular: historical, philosophical-legal, comparative, systemic, functional, generalization. Scientific novelty. As a result of empirical research the current state and problems of professional training of employees of the units for juvenile prevention, its role and importance, ones have been determined the ways for improvement the professional psychological training. On this basis, we have developed proposals to optimize professional psychological training by making changes to the postgraduate education program for employees of the units for juvenile prevention. Conclusions. Analysis the problem of the professional psychological training of employees of the units for juvenile prevention showed that during the process of professional formation tx`he specialists it is necessary to take into account the practical component the preventive activity, adhere to certain professiograms and psychograms, ensure the development the professionally important qualities, apply specially developed programs of psychological training police activity and ensure the police activity standards. In addition, the higher education institutions with specific training conditions for undergraduate training the employees of the units for juvenile prevention, should ensure the obligatory use of innovative interactive pedagogical technologies, take into account acmeological aspects of personal growth and professional skill. These raised issues are not conclusive and need further investigation
