The essence, meaning and legal characteristics of the legal guarantees of legitimacy wasrevealed in the article. The definition of the legal guarantees of legitimacy in management activity of police pertaining to organized crimeprevention in Ukraine, proceeding from the analysis and generalization of various opinions of scientists in regard to the understanding of this concept, was proposed by the author, their characteristics wasprovided also. Under the term in use «the legal guarantees of legitimacy in management activity pertaining to organized crime prevention in Ukraine» one must understand the purposeful, organizing-executive and administrative activity that consists of direct, daily, practical implementation of the tasks and functions of the state in the field of organized crime prevention in Ukraine. There are two structure elements of the legal guarantees of legitimacy in management activity pertaining to organized crime prevention in Ukraine: legal rules and activities of entities. Thespecific obligations for an entity of legal relationship is established by the rule of law, thus their implementation will ensure the realization of the rights of another entity. The law serves as the legal basis for legal activity, and legal activity is a means of the lawenforcement activity. The activities which are aimed at ensuring of the legitimacy in the management activity of the National Police are carried out in two main directions: 1) ensuring strict compliance with the law by each link of the police authorities and each of their employees in order to organize the precise work, support the state discipline; 2) ensuring the protection and defence of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens in their daily activities. Under the legitimacy guarantees in the management activity of the police pertaining toorganized crime prevention, it is necessary to understand the ways, conditions, means and factors that have a positive effect on the state structure both from the inside and the outside, provide the implementation process of the law and thus form the order of social relations promoting fulfillment of one of the main tasks of the National Police of Ukraine pertaining to organized crime prevention, the protection of human rights and freedoms, the fight against crime, public support of safety and order.The legitimacy guarantees are an integral part of its content, without which the existence of neither rights nor legitimacy is possible. Special legal guarantees to ensure legitimacy are specific legal means and internal legal mechanisms that are a real embodiment of legality in the legal field. They also consider the consolidation of rights and obligations in legal rules and a system of norms regulating, guaranteeing and protecting from violations the order of realization of these rules.
