Article reveals peculiarities of search performance within the criminal proceeding on cases of illegal narcotic (psychotropic) pharmaceuticals sale in drugstores. Author identifies factors influencing the decision to perform search at the initial stage of investigation of illegal narcotic (psychotropic) pharmaceuticals sale in drugstores instead of crime scene examination and temporary access to items and documents: search conducted in different structural objects (premises); search provides the detailed picture of crime scene with opportunity to detect the secret locations (premises) and open (forcefully, if necessary) safe deposits, iron boxes and other devices; opportunity to perform individual search (persons caught in the act of illegal sale of narcotic (psychotropic) pharmaceuticals in drugstores). Peculiarities of initial stage of search performed within the criminal proceeding on the cases of illegal sale of narcotic (psychotropic) pharmaceuticals in drugstores are provided: requirement to identify the exact quantity of objects subjected to search, exact address and premises mapping; ways of approaching and accessing the premises; blocking windows, entry doors, balconies; isolation and extraction of drugstores’ employees from the premises; blocking entry/exit doors in the premise along with communication infrastructure.
