In this article, author reveals new ways to tasks and powers of Economics protection units of National Police of Ukraine, and also the most common ways to commit crimes in a public procurement. The most common methods and schemes of committing crimes in public procurement are the following: а) participants provide false information to obtain benefits; b) unfounded providing a victory to participants; c) breaches in the preparation of tender documentation; providing false information to the procurement procedure of one participant; d) non-performance of contractual obligations; e) dividing of subject procurement to avoid procurement procedure. In order to detect and prevent crimes in public procurement is proposed analyze information about tenders, examine the tender documents of bidders with focusing on bid winners, which gives incomplete list required for participation in the tender documents compared to the other participants, which took part in bids; carry out a check accuracy and completeness of scope of works and services tenders winners; interview officials of companies and organizations that lost the tender for violations, which were admitted during his conduct of the officers of the client, attraction to tender «their» firms, and possible budget overruns, make cross-checks winners of tenders for the acquisition of facts legality of inventory, etc.
